The sound of roaring water fills your ears as you lean back over the edge! Just got back from a ripper weekend in the Blue Mountains!

🔥 The spray from the waterfall mists your face as the rugged sandstone cliffs tower above you, creating that heart-pumping mix of fear and pure stoke. Just got back from an absolute epic weekend in the Blue Mountains tackling some serious drops, and let me tell you, it’s the ultimate way to see this place!

🗓️ Day 1: The Big Adrenaline Rush

Start your morning with a solid brekkie and coffee in Katoomba because you’re gonna need the fuel! Head straight to the Empress Canyon for the main event—it’s a combo of abseiling and canyoning that’ll blow your mind. You’ll suit up in wetsuits (yes, it’s chilly in the water!), hike down the valley, and hit your first abseil right next to a stunning waterfall. The highlight? The massive 30-metre drop at the end that lands you right in the glowworm tunnel. It’s dark, wet, and absolutely magic. Finish up around 4pm, drive back to town, and smash a burger at the locality café.

🗓️ Day 2: Scenic Views & Sunny Cliffs

After yesterday’s wet adventure, today is about staying dry and enjoying the views. Head out to the Boar’s Head or ‘Dog Face’ near Narrow Neck. These are classic multi-pitch abseils where you’re hanging off sheer cliffs with insane views of the Jamison Valley. It’s much more relaxed than the canyoning, perfect for chatting with your mates and soaking up the sun. We usually do 3 or 4 pitches here. Pack some snags for a barbie lunch at the lookout point. Cap off the arvo with a cold one at the Carrington Hotel whilst watching the sunset over the Three Sisters.

💡 Tips & Warnings

✅ Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes with good grip—runners are fine, don’t need heavy boots!
❌ Don’t forget to bring a change of clothes and a towel for the car ride home, trust me.
⚠️ Always check the weather forecast before you go—abseiling in heavy rain or high winds is a big no-go.
✅ Bring a GoPro or waterproof phone case if you want to snap pics without wrecking your device.
