π Event Details
Get ready for the Phillip Island Winter Festival running from June 28th to July 6th, 2025! This year’s event is bigger and better, spanning over the school holidays perfect for families. The festival kicks off with a massive bonfire on Cowes Beach and wraps up with the famous penguin parade celebration. You’ll find activities spread across the entire island, from the Nobbies Centre down to Cape Woolamai.
β What’s New This Year
Heaps of exciting changes for 2025! They’ve added a new wildlife photography workshop series led by pro photographers (bloody brilliant for insta-worthy shots). There’s also a new coastal trail running event – choose from 5km or 15km options with stunning ocean views. Foodies will love the new ‘Taste of Gippsland’ pop-up village featuring local wineries and artisan producers. Plus, they’ve introduced eco-friendly shuttle buses between major venues!

Main festival hub is at Cowes Foreshore (Phillip Island, VIC 3922). Most events run 10am-9pm daily, with special sunrise yoga sessions at 6:30am and sunset whale watching tours departing at 4:30pm. The festival grounds are easily walkable, but wear comfy shoes – you’ll be covering some ground! Don’t forget your sunnies even in winter – those coastal reflections can be intense!
