Mark your calendars – Hobart Festival is coming to Southern Tasmania this winter!

🔥 The crisp winter air hits your face as you wander through Hobart’s historic waterfront, and suddenly the city comes alive with colour, music and laughter – the Hobart Festival has officially arrived!

📅 Event Details

The Hobart Festival is kicking off this winter, running from July 15th to August 30th, 2026 across Southern Tasmania. This year’s lineup is absolutely ripper with heaps of new additions alongside the festival favourites. The festival has expanded to include more venues across Hobart, Richmond and the Huon Valley, giving visitors even more reasons to explore this stunning region during the cooler months.

🎪 What’s New This Year

They’ve added some bloody brilliant new experiences for this season! The Wildlife Wonder Walk is a new night-time tour through the Tasmanian wilderness where you can spot native animals in their natural habitat. There’s also the Tasting Trail featuring local produce from across the region, and the expanded Arts Village which now includes interactive workshops where you can learn traditional crafts from local artisans. The festival organisers have really gone all out to make this year’s event the best yet!

📍 Location & Times

Main hub is at Salamanca Place, Hobart (7000), with satellite events at Richmond (7025) and the Huon Valley (7112). Most activities run from 10am to 8pm daily, but some special events like the Wildlife Wonder Walk run at night when the animals are most active. Getting around is a breeze – there’s a free shuttle bus connecting all major venues, or you can hire bikes and explore at your own pace.
