The Daintree Festival is back for 2025, running from May 16-18 at the Daintree Village, QLD 4873. This year’s theme celebrates the ancient rainforest’s living culture and biodiversity. Gates open daily at 9 AM, with activities running till sunset around 6 PM. Tickets are now available online with early bird specials ending March 31!

⭐ What’s New This Year

Heaps good updates for 2025! They’ve added a night-time rainforest walk experience with Indigenous guides, plus new eco-workshops on sustainable living. The food scene’s leveled up too with more local tropical fruit tastings and bush tucker cooking demos. Oh, and there’s now a dedicated family zone with kid-friendly activities all day!

📍 Location & Getting There

Daintree Village is about 2 hours’ drive north of Cairns (140km). The festival’s spread across the village green and nearby rainforest areas. If you’re driving from Port Douglas, it’s only about 90 minutes (70km) through some of the most stunning scenery in Oz. There’s limited parking, so they’re running shuttle buses from Mossman – definitely recommend booking that in advance!

💡 Make the Most of It

My hot tip? Grab the combo ticket that includes festival entry plus the Daintree River cruise – you’ll spot crocs and birds in the arvo light. Pack insect repellent and rain gear (it’s the rainforest after all!), and bring a refillable water bottle. The workshops fill up fast, so book those online when you grab your tickets. Don’t miss the Saturday night fire ceremony – absolutely magical!
