🔥 Ever wondered what it’s like to find your zen while overlooking the sparkling turquoise waters of the Sunshine Coast? Well, I’ve got some ripper news for anyone planning a trip up north!
🌤️ Current Conditions
It’s early 2026 and the weather on the Sunshine Coast is absolutely stunning right now. The humidity has dropped off, making it perfect for outdoor activities. I popped up to Noosa last weekend and the new Peregian Originals extension is finally open to the public. It connects the existing coastal path right through to the northern beaches, offering uninterrupted views of the ocean. It’s honestly one of the best spots I’ve seen for a sunrise session!
⚠️ What to Watch Out For
Since the trail is brand new, some sections are still soft underfoot, especially after the rain we had a couple of weeks ago. You’ll wanna watch your step if you’re carrying a yoga mat. Also, parking at the new northern access point is still pretty limited. I arrived at 6am on Saturday and it was already choccos! If you’re planning to do yoga on the headland, be aware that the wind picks up significantly by mid-morning, so anchor your mat down or secure your gear.
💡 How to Stay Safe
While it’s tempting to head straight for the cliff edges for that perfect Instagram shot, stick to the designated paths—the coastal scrub is protected and pretty fragile. If you’re hitting the trail for an arvo session, slap on the sunscreen and wear your sunnies—the UV index is still hitting extreme levels despite it being late summer. And keep an eye out for local wildlife; I saw a heap of goannas near the dunes, so keep your snacks sealed in your bag.
🎒 Gear Recommendations
For outdoor yoga on this trail, you’ll definitely need a non-slip mat with a bit more grip than usual since some of the boardwalks get damp from the sea spray. A lightweight, quick-dry towel is a lifesaver too. I’d also recommend bringing a decent hydration pack—it can get surprisingly steamy in the pockets of bushland between the beach sections. Don’t forget insect repellent either; the mozzies can be a bit feisty at dawn!
💡 Tips & Warnings
✅ Arrive before 6am to snag a parking spot and catch the best sunrise light.
❌ Don’t leave any rubbish behind—take all your yoga gear and waste with you.
⚠️ Stay behind barriers on the headland sections, especially if it’s windy.
🚀 Stay safe out there! 🚀
