Mark your calendars – Byron Bay Festival is coming!

🔥 The salty tang of ocean spray fills the air as you wander along the pristine beaches of Northern Rivers, and this summer, it’s about to get even more exciting with the return of the Byron Bay Festival!

📅 Festival Details

Get ready, because this year’s Byron Bay Festival is set to be bigger and better than ever! Running from January 15-18, 2026, this iconic event will transform the Northern Rivers region into a hub of music, art, culture, and outdoor adventure. The festival has expanded its footprint this year, with new stages, additional food vendors, and heaps more activities for the whole family. It’s gonna be a ripper time, mate!

⭐ What’s New for Visitors

This year’s festival has some exciting updates that you won’t wanna miss! First up, they’ve introduced a dedicated eco-zone showcasing sustainable living practices and environmental initiatives – perfect for us nature lovers. There’s also a new surfing competition at Main Beach, featuring pro demonstrations and beginner clinics. Plus, the food scene has stepped up with a ‘Taste of the Northern Rivers’ section featuring local producers and chefs serving up some seriously good tucker. I tried the barram tacos last year and they were bloody amazing!

📍 Location & Times

The main festival hub will be at the Byron Bay Showgrounds (24 Tennyson St, Byron Bay, 2481), but events will also be popping up at iconic spots around the Northern Rivers including the beachfront, town centre, and surrounding rainforest areas. Most activities run from 10am to 10pm each day, with some special early morning surf sessions and sunset yoga classes. Getting around is easy with the free shuttle buses running between major locations every 20 minutes.

💡 What This Means for You

If you’re planning a trip to the Northern Rivers this summer, the festival is the perfect excuse to visit! Accommodation books out super early, so if you’re thinking of going, I’d recommend sorting that out ASAP. The good news is there are camping options available at the festival grounds, which is a great way to immerse yourself in the full experience. Pack your sunnies, hat, and swimmers because you’re gonna need them! Entry to the main festival grounds is $95 for a day pass or $320 for a full 4-day pass, with kids under 12 getting in free.

💡 Tips & Warnings

✅ Book accommodation early – everything fills up fast during festival season
❌ Forget to bring reef-safe sunscreen – the sun can be brutal!
⚠️ Parking is extremely limited – use the shuttle buses or ride-share options
✅ Check the festival app daily for schedule updates and special announcements

🚀 Will you be there? Let me know if you’re heading up – would be heaps good to catch up there! 🚀
