🔥 Mark your calendars – Blue Mountains Festival is coming back to Greater Sydney this winter and it’s gonna be a ripper!
📅 Event Details
The Blue Mountains Festival is kicking off on July 15th and runs through August 20th this year, mate! This year’s lineup is bigger and better than ever, with heaps of new activities added just for this season. They’ve expanded the festival grounds to include more family-friendly areas and added extra 4WD adventure tracks for those of us who love getting off the beaten path. Last year was a ripper, but this year they’ve really stepped up their game!
🎒 What’s New for Visitors
Alright, listen up ’cause there’s some bloody good news! They’ve introduced new guided night tours through the rainforest – absolute magic with the right gear! Plus, there’s a new Indigenous cultural experience where you can learn about Dreamtime stories from local Aboriginal guides. For the 4WD enthusiasts, they’ve added intermediate and advanced tracks this year, so whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned off-roader, there’s something for ya. Don’t forget the new foodie village with local tucker that’ll make your taste buds dance!
⚠️ Key Changes to Know
There’s a few changes this year that you need to know about, mate. First up – booking is essential! They’ve had to introduce timed entry to manage the crowds properly. Also, the main festival hub has moved to Katoomba this year instead of Wentworth Falls, so make sure you check your directions. Parking is limited too, so they’re encouraging carpooling and public transport. Oh, and they’re no longer allowing BYO alcohol – the good news is they’ve got heaps of local craft beers and wines available at the festival bars!
📍 Location & Getting There
The main festival hub is at Katoomba Scenic World, 296 Katoomba St, Katoomba NSW 2780. From Sydney CBD, it’s about a 2-hour drive or you can catch the train from Central Station which takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes. If you’re coming from Parramatta, it’s roughly 1 hour 45 minutes by car. The festival runs daily from 9am to 5pm, but some activities have different hours, so check the website before you head out. Entry to the main festival grounds is free, but most activities and workshops require booking and have separate fees.
