Just got back from 3 days in the Blue Mountains! ποΈ
π₯ G’day mates! Just spent an absolute ripper of a long weekend exploring the Blue Mountains, and bloody hell, I’m still buzzing from those insane views! I’ve put together the perfect 3-day itinerary that’ll show you the absolute best of this UNESCO World Heritage wonderland – from jaw-dropping lookouts to hidden waterfalls you won’t find in the tourist brochures!
ποΈ Day 1: Katoomba Classics & Sunset Magic
Start your adventure in Katoomba, the heart of the Blue Mountains! Morning kicks off at Echo Point lookout – get there early to beat the crowds for that iconic Three Sisters view. Trust me, the morning light hitting the sandstone is pure magic! Then tackle the Giant Staircase (900 steps, but so worth it!) down to the Jamison Valley floor. Follow the Federal Pass track to the bottom of Katoomba Falls. Afternoon? Head back up and cruise along the Cliff Drive to Leura Cascades for a refreshing dip. Sunset session at Sublime Point Lookdown is non-negotiable – bring a camera and maybe a cheeky bevvy!
ποΈ Day 2: Waterfall Wonderland & Valley Views
Today is all about chasing waterfalls, mate! Start early at Wentworth Falls – I recommend doing the full National Pass circuit if you’re feeling fit (3-4 hours). The views are absolutely bloody brilliant! Grab brekkie in Wentworth Falls village at one of the cute cafes. Arvo adventure time at Govetts Leap lookout in Blackheath – the sweeping views of Grose Valley will blow your mind! For the keen hikers, the Cliff Top Track to Evans Lookout is a must-do. Wind down with a sunset session at Govetts Leap with some snacks – the colours are insane!
ποΈ Day 3: Hidden Gems & Local Favourites
Last day but we’re going off the beaten path! Start with a sunrise session at Lincoln’s Rock – way fewer crowds and the light is epic. Then head to the lesser-known but absolutely stunning Fairy Bower Falls in Blackheath (short 20-min walk, totally worth it). Mid-morning coffee run in the adorable town of Mount Victoria – the local bakery there does a mean sausage roll! For your final adventure, hit up the Victoria Falls track if you’re up for it, or the easier Pulpit Rock track for insane panoramic views. Finish with a well-deserved lunch at one of the historic pubs in Mount Victoria before heading back to Sydney.
